Among the many distinguished speakers, Intelen’s co-founder and CEO, Dr. Vassilis Nikolopoulos will be speaking at the “Role of the Customer in Smart Grid” panel, on the behavioral approach to customer engagement. Based on the findings of Intelen’s research on the topic and the results of Intelen’s BiG first test games, Dr. Nikolopoulos will be addressing engagement issues from the gamification perspective, as this approach seems to yield results that not only come quick, but are also long lasting, creating sustainable changes in customer mentality, attitudes and behaviors towards energy consumption, efficiency and demand response.
Other approaches will be explored by the other speakers of the panel, namely Denise Senecal, Marketing Research Manager, PEPCO Holdings, Inc. and Brad Gibson, Vice President of Communications and Member Services, Middle Tennessee Electric. The panel’s moderator is Barbara Lundin, editor at FierceEnergy and Fierce SmartGrid. The panel will be opening the Symposium and will start at 09:00.
